Released
on the 26th July 2010 are the two missing albums in the Lonnie Donegan canon,
never previously issued on CD.
Widely acknowledged as Lonnie's finest albums, these late 70's 'comeback'
LP's were both aggressively marked by Chrysalis as contemporaneous rock
'Super session' projects.
Both expanded editions include previously unreleased bonus tracks.
All inlays feature extensive liner notes, rare pics and ephemera, courtesy
of Donegan archivist Carl Jones. |

Puttin'
On The Style
Recorded during 1977, at a relatively low ebb in LONNIE DONEGAN's career,
PUTTIN' ON THE STYLE was very much a labour of love for producer Adam Faith,
and the various Rock luminaries - Ringo Starr, Elton John, Albert Lee, Brian
May, Rory Gallagher, Ron Wood, Leo Sayer, Nicky Hopkins, Klaus Voorman,
Jim Keltner, among many others - whose gratis contributions amounted to
some serious dues-paying. The LP received rave reviews and Lonnie was subsequently
rewarded with his first chart record in 15 years. This special expanded
edition, which features four previously unreleased bonus tracks, marks its
first official appearance on CD |

Recorded in tandem with the star-studded Puttin' On The Style, which had
returned LONNIE DONEGAN to the UK charts in early 1978 after a 15-year absence,
SUNDOWN perhaps remains Lonnie's finest LP. Frequently referred to as his
Cajun album, it featured Country heavies Albert Lee, Doug Kershaw, Emory
Gordy and Mickey Raphael alongside top session players like Richard Bennett,
Jim Keltner and Ray Cooper, and it placed Lonnie firmly in a Country-Rock
setting. This special expanded edition, which includes six previously unreleased
bonus tracks, marks its first official appearance on CD. |
